The Bridge, Cheltenham joined the Association of Bridge Churches on 1st January 2008. The church comes under the spiritual authority of John Paul Jackson, with whom we have developed a close relationship over the past few years.
The Cheltenham Bridge started life as the Cheltenham Vineyard church. It was officially started on 27th March 1997. The founding and current pastors, Tony and Dwee, church-planted out of the St. Albans Vineyard. Tony had been on staff at St. Albans for nearly four years. They had lived in the Cheltenham area before moving to join the St. Albans Vineyard in 1991 and had received a number of prophetic words about returning to Cheltenham sometime in the future. The call to church plant began to grow in them from about 1995 when they both attended a Vineyard church planting conference.
Newcomers and visitors today will find a community of believers centred around the Cheltenham Bridge which is:
- hungry for the Presence of God
- loves to worship
- loves to minister healing prayer
- is highly relational
- is extremely creative
- is wonderfully accepting
- is determined to live in grace and mercy towards each other and all those we come into contact with in our daily lives.
The Bridge, Cheltenham is a licensed Streams Training Centre which is one of John Paul Jackson's worldwide ministries operating under the Streams Ministries International banner.
We train people to:
- prophesy
- interpret dreams biblically
- hear God's voice.
From the outset, our hearts have been centred on Jesus:
- what He did for us on the Cross
- what He taught us
- how He expects us to make a difference through expanding the Kingdom of God where we work and live.
